CAJO’s main activity involves the holding of a biennial Conference at which, inter alia, best practices and new ideas and techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the administration of justice are discussed and agreed.
Biennial conferences have been held in Trinidad (the inaugural conference in 2009); The Bahamas (2011); Barbados (2013); and Jamaica (2015). The 2017 conference will be held in Curacao. At each biennial conference the members present elect a Chairman and an Executive body to run the affairs of the Association.
Nominations are invited for the offices of Chairman and Management Committee Member/Country Representative to serve on the CAJO Management Committee for the term 2017-2019.
Persons to serve on the Management Committee may be drawn from among: Appellate Judges; High Court Judges; Masters; Registrars; Magistrates / District Judges; Court Administrators; Tribunal Members.
The following countries/jurisdictions should be represented on the Management Committee:
- The Bahamas
- Turks and Caicos Islands
- OECS Territories
- The Dutch West Indies
- Trinidad and Tobago
- The Cayman Islands
